We are looking for the best designed album. The focus will be on both the design as well as the way the story is told by way of your images and layout. There are 8 categories:

This award celebrates architectural photography. There are two categories, exterior and interior architecture. There are no restrictions on style, but the judges will look at technical craftsmanship, combined with artistic flair. We will consider your unique perspectives of the architectural form or how it integrates with humanity.

This award celebrates bird photography. There are three categories,
Cinematography Awards:
This award celebrates outstanding Wedding* cinematography. There are 3 categories
Creative Photography Awards:
This award celebrates architectural photography. There are two categories, Figurative abstraction and Conceptual photography There are no restrictions on style, but the judges will look at technical craftsmanship, combined with artistic flair.
Fashion & Fitness Photography Awards:
This award celebrates Fashion & Fitness photography. There are two categories, Fashion & Fitness. Apart from technical craftsmanship, our judges will also be looking for creative aspects, such as composition, colour, perspective and unique interpretation
Fine Art Photography Awards:
This award celebrates fine art photography. Fine art is first and foremost about the artist. There are no restrictions on style, judges will look at technical craftsmanship, combined with artistic flair. We will consider your unique perspectives of the fine arts and how visually engaging the work is.

Food Photography Awards:
This award celebrates food photography. There are 5 categories:
Judges will look at technical craftsmanship, combined with artistic flair and creative aspects, such as composition, colour, perspective and unique interpretation.
Landscape Photography Awards:
This award celebrates Landscape photography. We are looking for high-quality and creative landscape photography. Submissions can be representational, Impressionistic or abstract landscape photography
Representational landscapes are the most natural and realistic out of all the styles of landscape photography. They should showcase the what you see is what you get mentality. The impressionistic landscape should employ photographic techniques that result in images that have vague or elusive qualities. The abstract photography should be non-objective, experimental, conceptual or concrete photography and should depict a visual image that does not have an immediate association with the object world.
We will consider your unique perspectives and technical craftsmanship, our judges will also be looking for creative aspects, such as composition, colour, perspective and unique interpretation.
Lifestyle Photography Awards:
This award celebrates lifestyle photography, the capture of portraits / people / pets in situations, real life events or milestones in an artistic manner. . There are nine categories
We will consider your unique perspectives and technical craftsmanship, our judges will also be looking for creative aspects, such as composition, colour, perspective and unique interpretation.
Macro Photography Awards:
We are looking for high-quality and creative macro and micro photography. Any subject or theme, be it from the natural world or human-made is allowed. The only condition is that the pictures should be extreme close-ups that will show intimate subject details that could easily be missed with the naked eye. Apart from technical craftsmanship, our judges will also be looking for creative aspects, such as composition, colour, perspective and unique interpretation.
Maternity Photography Awards:
This award celebrates Maternity photography. Photography (styled, studio or lifestyle) of pregnancy. There are nine categories :
Newborn Photography Awards:
This award celebrates Newborn photography, the captured photography (styled, studio or lifestyle) of a baby that is two weeks or younger. There are ten categories :

Travel Photography Awards:
Show us your travel photography. We are looking at your creative perspectives of your travel adventures, capturing the exciting and worthwhile moments in life as it happens around you. Photos do not necessarily have to include people but must fall in the genre of travel photography, therefore posing, set-ups, staging or re-enacting of the scene is not allowed.
Street Photography Awards:
Show us your urban life. We are looking at your creative perspectives of the urban environment, capturing the exciting and worthwhile moments in life as it happens around you. Photos do not necessarily have to include people but must fall in the genre of Street Photography. Therefore posing, set-ups, staging or re-enacting of the scene is not allowed. You can use any camera as we will
be emphasising visual prowess rather than mere technical precision.
Wedding Photography Awards:
This award celebrates wedding photography, the capture of activities relating to weddings. There are eleven categories :

Wildlife & Nature Photography Awards:
This award celebrates wildlife & nature photography. The wildlife & nature photography has 8 categories.

Images to be submitted in Hi-Res (Print JPEG’s) (Max size 4 MB per image) and photographs entered must be your own.
Album Designs to be submitted in PDF (Max size 40 MB per album).
There must be no borders, logos, copyright marks, or any identifying marks on the image.
Basic photo retouching, such as black and white conversion, colour and contrast, filters, cropping or removing minor distracting elements is permitted to convey your artistic vision.
Advanced editing such as composites and the adding and removing of significant elements within the frame is prohibited for all categories with the exception of fine arts and creative photography.
Contestants may need to provide the RAW / unedited image if requested. Only images taken from 1 August 2017 – 30 September 2019 will be allowed for 2019 awards.
You may enter as many images/films/albums as you want in the competition, but you can’t enter the same item into two different categories.
All photographers must have consent for their submitted photos to be displayed on our social media platforms.
Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of the date of entry.
The photographer or cinematographer must have been officially commissioned by the subjects to record their event (regarding wedding photography only). Second shooters who have been contracted by the main photographer/cinematographer may enter their work with written consent of the commissioned photographer/cinematographer.
A second shooter may not enter an image where the main photographer directed or posed the subjects.
By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted entry is an original work created solely by the entrant. The entry does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph/film/album.
By entering the Contest, the contestants give Admired in Africa authorisation to utilise all submitted images for social media, gallery exhibition or print media as long as credit is give to the photographer.
The entry must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsors, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. Entries deemed inappropriate will be disqualified.
Entries into the Wedding and Lifestyle divisions must have been created from one single capture (with the exception of multiple exposures of the same subject matter to achieve HDR, for example, in the Wedding and Portrait divisions).
Texture screens are allowed on images.
Non-photographic filters and actions produced by third parties that enhance characteristics of an image but do not add elements to an image are permitted in all divisions. Non-photographic graphic elements like text, patterns, frames and motifs are only allowed in the album category.
Images entered in the Wedding category must be made on the day that the ceremony was performed. Data of winning entries will be checked.
Prizes can be subjected to change. All prizes are sponsored, if any sponsor withdraws their prize, Admired in Africa cannot to be held liable for the prize.
Winning images of all categories and subcategories from previous years cannot be submitted in this or future competitions held by Admired in Africa
The Admired in Africa Award winners of 2019 will be announced at the Gala Dinner hosted by Admired in Africa, details to be posted on Friday 29 November 2019.
All applicants are welcome to enter the Admired In Africa Awards.
All prizes will be presented to the winners at the AdmiredinAfrica Awards Gala Event. All winners are required to attend the gala event to collect their prizes. Date and venue to be confirmed. The courier of prizes to winners after the Gala Event will be for the prize winners account or collection.
Winners outside of South Africa will be liable for the courier costs of their prizes.
The winner of each category will be decided as follow:
A panel of selected judges will score each image giving each image a collective score.
Sub-category Winners
Based on the collective scoring per image, the top 10 of all the sub category winners will be selected.
Overall Category & Price Winners
The overall category & price winners will be selected from the top 10 highest scoring images from all the sub-categories
The top ten of each category will receive an Admired in Africa award badge which can be displayed on their websites.
Judges to meet the scoring deadline set by Admired in Africa, if the scoring is not completed by the set deadline, the respective judges scores will not be considered. Admired in Africa reserves the right to make the final decision on the winners if any anomalies arise.
