John Fox

As a photographer, I am totally addicted to both the art and the craft of good photography.

This means that, I am totally passionate about sharing, learning, reading, discussing and doing all things photographic. I enjoy doing detailed work as it requires concentration and silences the world around me. This drew me to the technical challenges of macro photography where I can happily lose hours while tinkering.

The quest to shoot natural objects with a patience and dedication to honour their inherent beauty has also led me to explore fine art photography.

My drive to uplift the standard and appreciation of photography as a credible art form in South Africa has led me to lecture on the subject, which I did for 4 years at a tertiary institution. Now I work with DPC to develop and present course material on some of the more specialist subject matter, a field that I particularly love.
