Clair Fraser

Clair is well known in the industry as a leading newborn photographer and workshop host.

She is passionate about photographing tiny new humans and spends much of her professional schedule teaching and sharing the art of newborn photography to many people across South Africa.

The Newborn Photography Convention (NPC) gave birth to Clair’s goal and vision of promoting and sharing expertise across the industry. She has hosted two very successful conventions, in 2018 in Joburg and 2019 in Cape Town.  Both events attracted most of the photographers interested in newborn, maternity and birth photography – both industry leaders and “newbies” just getting started.  The conventions also gave some of the prop vendors and service providers an opportunity to network within the industry.

Clair established Nouveau Photography Workshops in 2018, together with Robyn Prevost.  They created and developed a comprehensive video workshop called Cute Camp which offers instruction, expertise, advise and “Tips and tricks” on all aspects of newborn photography. Proudly presenting 10 of South Africa’s best newborn photographers, Cute Camp is an innovative and powerful tool for anybody who shares their passion and desire to produce remarkable images.

Clair has been hosting newborn photography workshops at Nikon House since 2016. She also regularly hosts beginner and advanced workshops from her beautiful studio in Joburg.  As a result of her strong focus on uplifting and encouraging growth and support in the ever growing community of Newborn Photographers in South Africa, she has been invited to speak at numerous industry events over the years.

When Clair is not teaching or photographing babies, she is usually found on her patio at home with her best friend (husband) and 2 adorable kids, entertaining friends and enjoying a glass of wine.
